The Studio

The workshop has been in Petralona since 2017. It is where the printing happens, where the albums are sewn, where the films are scored, and where you are welcome to come and sit for an hour.

Konstantinos “Kostas” Aravidis

Lead photographer

Born in Petralona in 1985, graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts in 2009, and spent four years assisting the editorial photographer Andreas Burkhardt in Berlin before returning permanently in 2013. Shoots a Leica M11 with two lenses, prints in the studio darkroom, and teaches one weekend portrait workshop a year at the Hellenic Centre for Photography.

Camille Beaumont

Photographer & filmmaker

Born in Aix-en-Provence in 1987 and trained as a documentary filmmaker at La Fémis in Paris. Moved to Athens in 2013 to make a short film about the rebetiko revival in Kerameikos and never moved back. Leads the film commissions, scores the edits herself, and shoots stills alongside Kostas at every wedding.

Eirini Lemou

Studio manager & second editor

Joined in 2019 from a publishing house in Exarcheia where she edited art books for five years. Runs the workshop, keeps the booking calendar, edits the journal, and second-edits every wedding gallery before it is delivered. She is the reason your email is answered within a day.

Andreas Pavlou

Print master & album maker

Trained as a bookbinder in Florence and has bound every studio album by hand since 2018. Runs the print shop on the Epson SureColor P9000 and supervises the wet darkroom three afternoons a week.
